This is an intro session to the 7-week series of classes where you will learn to heal yourself through your 7 chakras with breath, voice, toning, affirmations, mantras, meditation, movement, percussion, tuning forks, and therapeutic yoga poses for the individual chakras.
Each class in the series includes a document describing the qualities of each chakra and its related element, together with the 7Rs of Healing as developed by sound therapist Christine M. Grimm:
1 – Reason: Say a positive word of intention (like “healing” or “self-love”) 2 – Relax: Breath and posture check; breath exercises plus yoga poses 3 - Release: Visualization and breath, body shake with sounding, rhythmic playing (shakers), and dancing with colored scarves 4 - Regenerate: Humming, toning, and singing 5 - Rest and Reflect: Listen within during quiet time, then speak about experience to group 6 - Routines and Rituals: create daily practices to support change 7 - (W)rite: Write in journal and use creative writing as a support; write affirmations and set them to music for daily use.
Since each class builds upon the previous one, it is best to commit to the entire 7-week journey. Participants share their experiences with the specific chakra during the previous week at the start of each class. There is no pressure to perform, and knowledge of singing or yoga is not required. This course creates a supportive atmosphere and can be adapted to any level of ability. Above all, the classes are very enjoyable!
